Im NekoLala. Nice to mweet you! Meow~ :3
Introducing myself
I am actually a pharmacy diploma graduate, BUT I have finally found my passion in sewing/designing clothes!
Tehhee~
After finishing my studies last Nov. '12, I was seriously clueless. I'm stuck with so many questions in my head, those darn life-decisions I had to make. Should I further study? Should I work first? Or should I sit at home watching tv? (NekoFact : I've chosen the latter. :3 )
After a month of being clueless (@.@'')
On a rainy Saturday, I had to send my lil' brothers to their music class at Karamunsing Capital. I believe the place is called Jerrell Rock Music Academy. It's a nice place btw, with electric/acoustic guitar, piano, violin, drum, singing, and many more lessons. Not only you can learn how to play those musical instruments, you will obtain a Certificate from Trinity College (its a musical cert. which you can use it to apply taking degrees in IPTAs/IPTS). Those certificates are based on your level (0-8) and your performances. (NekoFact: I have piano certs. from Grade 1-6 with distinctions, piano theory certs from Gr. 1-5.)
Haha! We're getting a lil' bit out of topic here. So, after sending them to their classes, I was wandering around in the ol' Karamunsing Complex building. I remembered back in 2011, the building was reported to be unsafe and may collapse any time soon. So many people feared of going there, including me. Let's just hope that the building will last. Lets get on to the story then, as I was passing through the corner where the escalator & stairs are(in front of Watson, next to the gold shop), there was this kiosk/booth with pretty quilts, sewing crafts and sewing machines[Janome 2409 and Janome Embroidery, which I forgot its code.] (NekoFact : At that time, I don't even know what types of machines they are.)
The lady there noticed me and introduced... EPAL! Art, leisure and life~ Pronounced as "apple", not "e-pal". Haha. She told me that EPAL is the sole distributor of JANOME sewing machines in Malaysia. It has a Handicraft Training Centre established in 2001, with so many branches spread throughout Malaysia and Indonesia. Then, she showed me how rigid and stable the machines are, available designs you can stitch with, warranty and many more. With much persuasion, my beloved MOM bought me that machine! I was extremely excited and couldn't wait to put my hands on that cute lil' machine. After registering at the kiosk, we had to go their main branch in KK, which was located at Wawasan Plaza. We went there, grab my machine, and all the other free goodies along with it.
SO, what I brought home from EPAL that day :-
- Janome Sewing Machine 2409 (with foot pedal, screwdrivers, the basic 5 footers, oil, warranty, plastic bobbins and sewing needles)
- FREE! 15 types of footers! (Ultimate Ruffler, Walking Foot[for quilting], Zipper Foot, etc.) Sorry I forgot the others' name.
- FREE! Monthly-projects-instructional Books! Including the Art of Fabrics, and Introduction to Janome Machine.
- FREE! Janome Sewing Bag. I've always use the bag to bring all my stuffs for class.
- FREE! 12months of free sewing class at Epal Training Centre. (Any branch, in my case, Wawasan Plaza)
Wow, I hadn't realize my post is getting pretty long. I've wanted to make all of my posts quite simple & understandable for everyone. Well, let's make an exception for my first introduction post. Tehee~
Basically, my blog will be filled with techniques, free patterns, and many more regarding sewing, that I've learnt through my classes and constant surfing through the net. Hehe.
Since I'm an extreme beginner at sewing(COMPLETE NOOB), I hope people would share some thoughts or advices with me. and of course, I would share what I've learnt with you too! Sharing is Caring~
Hope you enjoy!
Neko out!
